Frequently Asked Questions

Is Swimm an open-source platform, or is it available for free to public open-source projects?

Swimm''s source code is not open source. However, we are committed to supporting open-source projects and provide Swimm for free to such projects and repositories. If you are working on an open-source project and considering using Swimm, you can get in touch with them at info@swimm.io.

What happens if I reach my user limit?

If you reach your user limit, you can explore the upgrade option available under "Billing and Plans" within the Swimm app. In case you encounter any difficulties, you can reach out to the Swimm team via their community Slack Channel or by contacting them at info@swimm.io.

Who is the Small Teams tier intended for?

The Small Teams tier is designed for early-stage startups and small development teams comprising up to 25 developers.

Who is eligible for the Free tier?

The Free tier caters to very small development teams, individual projects, open-source projects, and those who wish to try out Swimm before committing to a formal trial.

If I am part of a large organization, what is the procurement process like?

For large organizations, it is recommended to get in touch with the Swimm sales team to arrange a guided trial. This trial helps build a solid business case to present to leadership and decision-makers. A dedicated account representative will assist you in navigating your organization''s specific procurement process, which usually involves security, legal, and pricing reviews with multiple stakeholders.

What happens when I reach my Verify test limit?

When you reach your Verify test limit, Swimm will go through your documentation to identify outdated documents and fix most of them automatically. Each time the Verify test finds an outdated document, it counts towards your monthly limit. If you exceed the limit, Swimm will still notify you about outdated documentation but may not update it for you or pinpoint the outdated areas. You can explore upgrade options under "Billing and Plans" in your app, or for any issues, contact them via the Community Slack Channel or at info@swimm.io. It''s important to note that you will not lose access to the documents you''ve created, as they are stored as part of your repositories.

How does Swimm ensure the security of my data?

Swimm places a high priority on security. We never store your code on their servers but only save metadata. Data transfer and storage are encrypted using Google Cloud Platform. Code access is restricted to those with GitHub permission, and Swimm does not copy your code, although it may process code snippets for suggestions. GitHub tokens are not stored on Swimm''s servers; instead, they are secured client-side. Unique, non-stored tokens are generated for each action.
