Frequently Asked Questions

What is this tool?

SummerEyes stands as an AI-powered productivity tool accessible through a Google Chrome extension, generating concise summaries of online text by identifying key points and enhancing clarity.

What problem does it address?

In a world inundated with information and time constraints, SummerEyes alleviates the challenge of information overload. It increases daily knowledge processing by condensing news articles, emails, documents, textbooks, etc., removing unnecessary or non-critical details.

How much does it cost?

SummerEyes is currently free during our Beta testing phase. A paid subscription model will be implemented in the near future.

Are there any limitations on what I can summarize?

During the Free subscription phase, not all features are available. Summarizations exceeding a few thousand words and summarization of PDFs require a Premium subscription.

How does it work?

The inputted text undergoes Natural Language Processing, where it is understood, evaluated, and rewritten to optimize information density. Constant trials with different models help optimize results, with user feedback used to train the Summary Engine and enhance capabilities over time.

Can I use it for any language?

Currently, SummerEyes supports English text only. Other languages may yield mixed results.

Can I use it in any web browser?

Presently, SummerEyes is exclusively available for Google Chrome and Brave on desktop. Plans include extending availability to Safari and Firefox in the near future.

Where can I find more info on upcoming features & improvements?

Registering an account provides access to our newsletter, offering updates on our feature roadmap and planned improvements. Subscribing to our newsletter is the best way to stay informed about product development.

Why is my summary taking time to load?

Processing time varies based on factors such as the text''s length and server resources. Larger bodies of text take longer, and server resources may be constrained during Beta activation, leading to delays. The cold start problem, where servers take time to initiate, can also contribute to processing delays.

What is the cold start problem?

SummerEyes employs an on-demand server architecture, dynamically scaling up or down based on user demand. The cold start problem occurs when initiating a new resource, resulting in a brief delay before processing a summary, similar to a computer needing time to start up from a powered-off state.
