FastBots.ai review: a multi-channel AI chatbot builder, and its credit math

Most website chatbot builders sell the same promise: point them at your content and get a bot that answers customer questions without a support hire. FastBots.ai makes that promise too, but it aims a step past the single-widget crowd. One account can run several bots, push them onto WhatsApp and Instagram as well as a website, switch between OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models, and even take actions through Zapier. The catch, worth understanding before you pick a plan, is that not every reply costs the same.

Building and training a bot

Getting a bot running is three steps: import your data, adjust the bot, embed it. The import step is where FastBots is strongest. You can feed it a website URL or sitemap, PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, CSV, and XLS files, Google Sheets, or YouTube video URLs, and its crawler is built to read JavaScript-rendered sites and pages behind firewalls, which simpler scrapers miss. Training capacity runs from 12 million characters per bot on the entry plan up to 25 million on the top tier.

You then decide how the bot behaves. A persona prompt sets its tone and role, and you choose which model answers, since FastBots exposes OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models rather than locking you to one provider. You also control where answers come from: a bot can draw only on your uploaded material, blend in the model's general knowledge, or pull live web results, and you set topic boundaries so it declines questions outside its brief instead of behaving like an open ChatGPT box.

Where the bot lives

A website embed is one line of code, but FastBots treats the site widget as one channel among several. The same bot can run on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and Slack, and reply to inbound email on the higher plans. It handles around 95 languages, translating a conversation so a visitor writing in one language gets a reply in theirs.

When the bot reaches the edge of what it knows, a live-chat handover kicks in. It offers to fetch a human, and if the visitor agrees, a notification lands in the FastBots dashboard so a team member can take over the conversation in real time. That mix of AI first with a human backstop is the part small teams tend to actually use.

From answers to actions

Answering questions is the baseline; FastBots also tries to do things. Through a Zapier integration built on Zapier's MCP, a bot can submit forms, book appointments, send emails and SMS, or check an order mid-conversation, reaching into thousands of connected apps. Lead capture is built in too: the bot collects a name, email, and phone during a chat, emails new leads to your team, and lets you export the list. An automated retraining schedule can re-crawl chosen pages daily, weekly, or monthly, so a price change on your site shows up in the bot's answers without a rebuild. An independent review by AI Chat Review singled out the fast setup, built-in lead capture, and the live-chat handoff as the platform's real strengths.

What it costs, and the credit math

FastBots.ai pricing page — Essential, Business, Premium and Reseller tiers

Plans start with a free trial that needs no credit card, then run Essential at $39 a month, Business at $89, Premium at $199, and a white-label Reseller tier at $399, with annual billing knocking roughly 17% off each. What separates them is scale and features. Essential gives you 2 bots and 2,000 message credits. Business, the plan FastBots marks as most popular, adds live chat, chat translation, auto-retraining, and email replies with 5 bots and 5,000 credits. Premium lets you remove FastBots branding, and Reseller adds custom domains and a fully branded platform for up to five client brands.

The word to notice is credits, not messages. A reply from a standard model such as GPT-6 Luna (the default) or Gemini 3.8 Flash costs one credit, but advanced models cost more: five credits for GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-5.2, or Gemini 3.1 Pro, and ten for Claude 4.5 Sonnet, Claude 5 Sonnet, or GPT-6 Sol. On Essential, 2,000 credits is 2,000 replies if you stay on a standard model, but closer to 200 if you route everything through Claude 4.5 Sonnet. If premium answer quality matters, budget for it or top up with add-ons such as 1,000 extra credits for $10 a month.

Who it fits, and where to look twice

FastBots suits a business that has outgrown a one-bot widget: a support team that wants the same assistant on its site and WhatsApp, an agency running bots for several clients, or a shop that wants the chatbot to book and act rather than only reply. Data sits on SOC 2 and GDPR compliant infrastructure, which helps when your own buyers ask about it.

The honest caveats are mostly about tiers and lock-in. The features that make FastBots more than a basic bot, live-chat handover, translation, auto-retrain, and email replies, all sit at the $89 Business plan or above, so the $39 entry plan is closer to the rest of the category than the full feature list suggests. Removing the FastBots badge means Premium or a $29 monthly add-on. And as that same independent review points out, you are committing to a hosted platform with usage limits, so a heavy month can mean paying for add-ons or moving up a tier. None of that is unusual here, but it is worth pricing against your expected volume before you commit. Overall it lands at a 4 out of 5: a genuinely capable, multi-channel builder whose value depends on reading the credit model before you buy.
